Now Listening: Symphony X - The Odyssey

Whoa, I woke up late for school today. I actually did woke up at around 6:30 but looked like the sandman was drunk and dropped a whole bag of sleeping powder onto me. hurhur.

Well, received a call from my prog rock drummer. He mistakened me for someone else. So I inadvertantly was invited into his band which plays Evanescence and soon, to experiment some Dream Theater stuffs. Now I have 2 bands. Haha. I think I'll be able to cope ah.

I didn't do much studying today. Went through my Maths TYS thoroughly and read up on Public Housing for Social Studies and tada. Thats all.

Anyways, I heard some fight broke out in my neighbourhood. No wonder there were some idiots running around screaming under my block which at that time I was listening to Symphony X's Unleash the Fire at a rather loud volume. I was soon informed by my sis ah. Then after which, I played some guitar and went back to bed again.

Woke up, went to the computer again and waste my life away listening to some stuffs at knac.com. heh.

Some people were already back from school ah.

Played guitar again. Tried some classical and blues stuff this time.

Then slept again.

Chatted with some guys in #guitar. My connection kept disconnecting. Frustrating.

Then chatted with some other guys and gals. And here I am

The jamming was ok. Only the sound levels weren't that goood after the first two songs cos we did some configurations until we couldn't hear what Raszman was playing.

Here's what we played:

Met the guys at 5:30 at Sabri's place. We met under some pondok dome thingy. Raszman was late. We started before his arrival so that no time would be wasted. We were off then sharing ideas. I played something which was then later founded out to be a riff from Metallica's To Live is To die. Hahaha. So we scrapped that. We then jammed some shit. Dance of Death again. The acoustic parts only. After that went into some individual stuffs. Then poof. Idea. We worked on it for like 3 hours. Then we got the sound we want. Currently, we plan on playing this song during Teacher's Day.

Now listening: Symphony X - Communion and The Oracle

Yesterday, was one hell of a stressful day.Woke up and practiced guitar for an hour. My practice session wasn't that satisfying cos my palm hurts after the Napfa thingy after injuring myself. Then blabla, chatted and stuff. Went out of the house at 3. Met the guys at 3:30. Off to Alujunied for the audition thingy. Took a urr.. forgot what bus.

Arrived after a few stops. Cracked some jokes along the way. walked towards this secluded place. Went up a lift with a pole in the centre of the doorway. Lol. Wtf. Then went up to this dark level. Saw a sign litted yellow upon a red-painted wall. 'E-mage'. Took a phone camera pic. Then went inside. Filled up some form. Then had to remove our footwear. Macam kat Masjid. Then got into a stupid interview in which I screwed up. I was too excited that I said "we are currently improvising on Jazz". What I was supposed to say was.. "We are currently planning on jamming some Jazz stuffs." Ah what the hell. The place was small. 3 rooms. 1 studio, 1 office room and a sitting room. we went into the studio and then setted up our stuffs. There weren't any guitar amps. Only a small amp for the bass and a digital drum. Raszman wasn't that acquainted to a digital drum. Oh yes, and I forgot to bring a guitar strap. So I had to sit down.

He, the fat guy in charged of the thingy told us to jam some Iron Maiden covers. So we played Hallowed be Thy Name. I screwed up alot. Hah. Then I did some shredding during the solo laaa. After that, he told us to play some Jazz. Okay my fault. Everyone was... fuck you Zeek. ahahaha. We played our original w/ Jazz improvisions which sounded pretty good. I got a glimpse of the fat guy dancing with two ladies outside of the studio. Oh yes. They were laughing during some fucked up parts. Everyone was nervous especially me. We stopped the song halfway for undisclosed reasons. Then we had another stupid interview. Bla blaba. Sabri got criticised because of his size. I got criticised for my nervousness.

After that blabla. Sulaiman got some praises ah. But we all sucked. People makes mistakes man. Haha. So we were outta there.

After that we had some coffee and eggs at some Coffee Shop.

Then we went jamming for one hour. I bought a guitar strap at $6. We jammed at Wee Lee.

Okay I think I'll continue later. Tired ah.

fwah. I got disconnected just now and got all panicky. Tried everything. Called Syed, his hp bill was spent. Then few more tries, I called Imran. Well anyways, my day was okay. I had my Malay Oral Mid Year examinations just now so that I won't have to go to school on Saturday. Wahooo! I didn't know I could read that well. Well had a little jitters here and there but I hope I did ok. The conversation part was challenging. I am very weak in my vocabulary so I was restrict to a limited amount of words I had in store in my mind. Quite easy ah but a bit mind wrenching ah. Heh. Had my 2.4km run. Haha. I shall not elaborate about it ah. Shy ah.

Other than that.. the ol' typical mundane day. I still have my Geography homework to do... or issit Social Studies? :\

What was to be our big day yesterday went up in smoke because of 1 guy, our vocalist, Sulaiman. Everyone else was waiting at the interchange for him with guitars in hand and he was still fast asleep at home. This was supposed to be our big break. Rahman, our second guitarist, had to cancel a date because of the audition thingy.. Raszman, our drummer, had to cancel his 1-week planned date. Sabri, our bassist, had to sacrifice his time for sleeping (for working later on that day) for practicing and for the audition. Everyone was pissed off. Sabri and I was in a good mood though. Sabri is always able to crack anyone up with his shar of jokes in the darkest hours.. well depends on his mood. And me.. I had to sacrifice attending the Speech Day thingy so that I won't be tired for the audition thingy.

We called him 25 times. He was unable to hear. Tido Mati lah. Time passes slowly. Rahman called the audition guy for it to be postponed again. I heard the audition guy was furious. The next audition thingy will be on next week, Saturday.

We went to McDs with our guitars to wait for Sulaiman's call cos Sabri wanted to bring us jamming. Well, its on the house. Heh. 2-hours. I had strawberry Sundae. Woohoo. Raszman had err coke and Strawberry Sundae. He later added the coke inside the Strawberry Sundae.

Sabri - This is dog shit.
Sabri - This is fear factor. You have 2 minutes to complete that. Now go.
...
Me - Sab, how much time left?
Sabri - 30 secs, 10, 2, 0. Well, you still have to complete it

Hahaha. After that, we went to Apek Tempang BMC.

Took a 17. The bus arrived almost immediately. We talked about Sulaiman and all that, whether he was still interested to be in the band.

Finally arrived at the Bus Depot. Walked to BMC. Went up a lift. Payed the thing and waited for our room to be ready. Then, Sulaiman called. Rahman told him to come down to BMC, but he had other things to do. Then ah what the hell.

My set up took only 5 minutes. Wahaha as opposed to the 30 minute+faulty set up during the last jam. We had a warm up session playing Iron Maiden's "Montsegur". Was Half complete. After which, we played "Dance of Death" also by Maiden. Was also Half-completed. Hahaha. Sabri, Rahman and Raszman played malay songs. Then that was the end of our warm up. We played Tak Pernah Ku Menduga. Completed! I was able to hit the arpeggio solo. Then we played "Brave New World" by Maiden. I didn't expected it to be completed. Heh. I have to work on my solos. Then we played Merinduimu. Original. Completed that one also. Added a metronome-type section so that its easier for Sulaiman to sing in one part of the song ah. Then we played, KCY, Kisah Cinta Yana. Our original. Was stucked half way because I haven't come up with the solos yet. Then, we played Hallowed be Thy Name. Hahaha. I had some problems there. We also played Evil That Men Do. Everything was perfect except for the solo. Hmm. have to work on that one. Then we played Fear of the Dark. Had problems after the solo thingy. After which, we played some Jazz Improvisions and some incomplete wacky songs. I played the Tarantella thingy. Sabri and Raszman added in some drum and bass parts. Then, we had in which I dub.. "The Natural Selection Jam". To pass the time, we made up our own on-the-spot song which spanned about 10 minutes. Had Jazzy parts and some heavy metal parts + slow and sentimental solos. Also fast solos. Hehe. It was nice. Everything was coordinated perfectly. One of the best "Jam Songs" ever. Of course in the past we had jam songs. Keke. Then we ended the Jam session with a headbanging and high-speed Master of Puppets cover. Hahahaha.

After the jam, me, Rahman and Raszman went to Bedok Interchange to have some Bandungs and Kerangs. Sabri had to go to his workplace later on. So we headed to Bedok Interchange. Sabri dropped off at his block.

We arrived at Bedok Interchange and made our way to Yassalam. We talked about Sulaiman along the way. If he wasn't commited.. then there must be some one to replace for the vocals. Well, then I suddenly volunteered. Hahaha. Then everything was all set.

Wah Yassalam banyak "chicks" da. Hur. Kerang was good. I never really liked Kerang but it was okay.

Headed our way to the skatepark. They tested on my singing and seemed to be satisfied by it. The only problem was that I wasn't able to remember the lyrics. We also called up Sulaiman, to see whether he was really interested and confirmed to be on the following week's Saturday's audition. Seems like he will still be in the band. Yay. After that, we went home and met each other online.. talking crap as always.

hurhur. emm..

Sorry. Its been 2 days since I've last updated this thingy. Kekeke. I've been busy with this and that. Such a relief, that there isn't any tests today except for some Prize Giving Day celebration which was compulsory but haha.. I didn't attend. Whats the point of going anyways. I heard the performances were crappy. As always.

Today will be quite a big day for Natural Selection cos we will be auditioning for ------------ to -------------. Sorry for blanking out. I am not quite sure myself. Practiced til my fingertips burnt. Wah. So uh.. if pass the audition thingy, we'll get this ------------------ form for ------------------ so that we'll get ---------------------- and money. Haaaaaaa.

For the first time in a few months, I've managed to save some $$. Weeeeeeeee. I've spent some and now I am left with 4. Ahaks.

Its been a boring week. The chat rooms that I am in now are filled with prolong silence unless I type out something crappy which just doesn't sink in.

Just came back from the #powermetal outing to celebrate fellow chatter, Yadi's, birthday. 16 years old. (HAPPY BDAY AH!) Its been a while since I've been to Orchard. Filled with chicks and all. The usual ah.

Woke up at around 9+. Went online. Woohoo. Met Alden and gang. Started talking crap. Then it was already 1:45. Bathe and all. Went off to meet em at Bedok Interchange. Took an 87. I wore a Dimmu shirt AKA the Pussy Dimmu shirt. You have to see it ah. I'll show you. Met Mas with her friend. Didnt know the others were at the Mrt platform. I called Hyder. He made a high pitch gay voice like ZP Theart..

Hyder-- Hello ni...

My thumb was already on the cancel button and I accidentally pressed the cancel button. Call again.. he thought I got the wrong number. I called him again.. he diverted his calls to Pizza Hut. Wahhaha. Called again.. still Pizza Hut. then I decided to sms him ah. Then he called.. I accidentally pressed the cancel button again. mas was just looking at me. Wahahaha. Then I called him.. dunno ah I ask him where he was.. then me and Mas headed for the MRT platform.

Found Hyder, Azman, Imran, Yadi and Nurul already there. I contacted Imp. He was on his way. Imp was the last man. Everyone wore casual t shirts except for me and Imp. Wahahaha. Imp wore a Bounty Hunter shirt. Not exactly sure whether it was a name of a band or something. Cool shit ah.

We rendezvous at the last cabin. We basically made a lot of noise ah. The surrounding mats and minahs were looking at us. Anyways at one time.. I was standing without holding on to anything. The train started moving. A sudden jerk ah. I lost my balanced and squashed this guy. hahaha. The rest all thought that the guy was with us cos he was standing near our area. Then dah.

Met Syed at City hall. He had to go to Redhill early in the morning.

Headed our way to Orchard. Imp started the "Ching Chong" mayhem. Lol. Long story. Actually short. But. Nevermind ah. =P

Arrived at Orchard. Went to Lido. Serious last minute shit. At last watching Hell Boy.

The movie was okay ah. Could be better. The mask guy was cool. The movie had their comedic part also. We ended up making fun of ourselves yelling nonsense especially Hyder to make for the mediocreness of the movie. =P

After that we went walking around Orchard. The girls, Nurul and Mas had to go home earlay. The rest went to HMV to check out the metal section. Wah alot ah. But the prices were ridiculous. 58 bucks. haha very funny ah.

After which, we hung out. Went to LJS. I had coleslaw because I had only a dollar.

Then went home. Imp went to Kembangan to hang out with his friend.

For me, I just want to get out of this hell hole.. my school I mean. ASAP. hurhruhru. Really sickens me ah. Stressful. Theres tons of homework but I refuse to do ah. REBEL.

I've just got back from school for my Geography test. I didn't study for it at all. Wahaha. But I did managed to complete 95% of the questions. Well, 8 marks gone. Okay around 85% of the paper is completed. Now I am just sitting in front of the computer wasting my time away. I could not continue my sleep. I was lucky to ake up just before 7. (The paper started at 7:30) But then I was around 5 minutes late. Hahaha.

I hate my hair.

Anyway, I've been playing lots of guitar nowadays. I've posted an ad on wanting to form a Progressive Rock band. hahaha. Power. But its my dream ah. To play in a Progressive Rock band. I know its going to be hard cos a lot of music theory is going to be involved. Hah.

Well hows everyone's Good Friday?

Mine kinda sucked. Stayed at home. Woke up at around 11:25 in the morning and found some peeps online. Supposed to go off playing guitar with Mas, her bro, Yadi, Syed and Imran but the whole thing was cancelled. So I was stuck at home for the rest of the day. I was online for the rest of the day too.

I watched the Cosby show.. a look back. Wahahaha funny man. Remembered seeing that show when I was a little Zeek toddler. Sigh. Cosby is the man. Family Matters was my favourite too. Steve Urkel rocks my world. Ok that sounded gay.

Well anyways bling.. bling bling (whats a bling ah?) I gotta be off now. I'll just go sit in the middle of my room and stare at the 4 walls and the ceiling.

Woohoo. Finally my internet is back up and running. After weeks of pissed off days, finally, something to be happy about. The return of my internet. Woohoo. I am an addict. Hahaha. The week was okay. Kinda rough but its ok compared to the other weeks that I've had. School is ok. School sucks. School is boring, mundane. I am keeping my hair again. Muahahaha. Well anyways..

Today..

Twas a fine day. Woke up with a sprained leg. Woke up on the wrong side of bed ahhh. Hahaha. Then blah blah, got ready and off I go. Then, blah blah, the typical Wednesday. Had Maths remedial just now. Attended it and then off I went home. Got home, switched on my computer and listened to some MP3s. Wanted to play guitar but soon I discovered that my Jazz III picks were nowhere to be found then bla bla. Went to bed. Woke up, there was a call. Its my dad. Opened the door, got my modem. Woogoo. Now I am here.

Boring entry eh?
