Chapter 1.

'Twas a fine day.

Was fucking lazy to get up from sleep. The time was already displaying 6:37, on my handphone. My dad called who told me to wake up and I did. I didn't want to but I have to. I've just realised that I have not yet began on my Malay homework which I was supposed to do yesterday but unfortunately, in the midst of reading the comprehension passage, I felt asleep. Hahaha. Thought of a common yet moderately effective reason to get out of the situation and handing it up on the next Malay class, "Tertinggal kat rumah". I did brought the book anyway.

7:15, consumed a sweet loaf of bread, spread with fine margerine, with great haste knowing that I was going to be late. My cat, Joey/Zoey, was playing with his/her toy mouse, yonder at the carpeted floor to my right. I said "goodbye" to it before leaving the house. The time was 7:17.

The lift stopped at the fifth floor and opened.

When it has reached the ground floor, I walked swiftly through the lobby area ornamented with maroon and beige tiles on the walls and floors, with the usual sight of a green trash can bin beside the letter boxes, 30 degrees to my left.

I have reached to the garden cum carpark area. The atmosphere was silent. I could see, some students wearing the same all-beiged school uniform that I wearing, rushing through the green side gate beyond the small road north to the direction that I was facing. 7:19am.

With a few minutes to spare, I jogged short distances. I crossed the road swiftly and finally reached the gate. Ah! Relieved I was. I continued on walking, along the fernery and turned to left towards the assembly grounds filled with a rowdy regiment of students.

I was walking swiftly with other students, clutching onto their bags, hurrying to their assigned classes, along a small oval shaped garden, filled with flowers and low trees. To the left of the garden, at the exit of the lobby area, ornamented with pale pink tiles, was my Malay teacher, standing still watching with wary eyes, the rowdy crowd before him. I walked passed him, without greeting him to make it to my class before the bell rings. He suddenly said, "Ziq!", in a loud and clear voice which made me halted. I turned around and faced him. He greeted me a very good morning. I smiled and said, "Selamat pagi Cikgu". I then turned around and headed towards my class.

There seemed to be a lack of area for me to settle down. I asked my friend Farhan, who was reading the latest issue of Readers' Digest which was handed to us early this month to move to his left. He did so, I joined the class and sat on the empty, vacant spot beside him to his left.

The bell rang.
